After tasting defeat for the first time this year Chorley looked to get back to winning ways against the form team in the league over the past month.

The match started at a furious pace and the Mossley Hill attack was met with ferocious tackles from big hitting front rower Nick Sergeant.

It was an even first ten minutes but it was the home side who struck first with a try in the corner.

Chorley responded it the perfect way to score after slick handling from fly half Steve Pearson and centres Mike Richardson and Stuart Harris led to winger Andrew John scoring.

Pearson converted to put Chorley 7-5 up.

In the second half Chorley were punished by a dropgoal and two breakaway tries from the impressive Mossley Hill.

Chorley had chances of their own but the luck was with the home side and it leaves a massive home game next week against second placed Newton-le-Willows.
