Chorley Rugby Union Club hosted their Open Day on Saturday and local MP Lindsay Hoyle kicked-off the event with the official opening.
Both senior and junior players attended the event which contributed greatly to the family atmosphere.
Rugby displays were held in addition to entertainment for children and a fundraising auction in the evening.
Following the opening Mr Hoyle said: “Chorley Rugby Union club has been very successful in recent years in attracting new players to the club, particular younger players.
"With qualified coaches the club has junior teams playing in local leagues and this can only be a good thing in terms of helping more children participate in sporting activity.
“I enjoyed the opportunity to kick-off proceedings by feeding the ball between the junior and senior pack.
However, my playing role stopped there and it was time to let the players take over.
“Congratulations to Alison Hansford and all the volunteers who helped organise the Open Day and, more importantly, who work hard all year round to ensure that the club has an active and positive role within the community.”
