After four wins out of five Chorley played an in form Bolton team containing a smattering of 1st and 2nd team players as their home team games were called off.
In wet and muddy conditions the Chorley pack started strong, taking it to Bolton, and centre Ross Cottom ran in under posts for the first try converted by Matt Bates.
Flanker Steve Goodman then burrowed in to score and make it 14-0 Bolton cam back strong with their front row putting tremendous pressure on the Chorley pack and they lett in there stand off to score just after the break.
Bolton continued to dominate but the Chorley defence held firm.
Some quick thinking by Cottam saw him break free and out-run the Bolton defence and score in the corner for his second try.
Bolton tried to break through the Chorley defence, but it was Chorley who could have scored again but failed to capatalise with two overlaps.
Chorley captain Phil Callander said: "The defence was excellent against an experienced Bolton team, but this Chorley team is special.
"Ross Cottam was excellent today as was Matt Bates."
Chorley travel to Rossendale next week for their last game of the season.
