Chorley travelled to Colne looking to build on their recent form and convert the near scalp of Bury into their first win since December.

The first quarter saw Chorley dominant starting the more positive side and securing two missed penalty chances in the first 10 minutes.

Their fast rucking game working well until the heavens opened and hail followed sleet.

Chorley continued to try and break the Colne defence with their back line despite the wintery conditions and came close on several occasions.

Colne literally managed to weather the storm as the wind and rain died out going into the second half.

Good field position gave Colne the chance of a quick lineout which the Chorley defence were slow to spot, quick hands resulted in a try on the wing.

Shortly after the restart a lapse in concentration saw Colne break the Chorley back line on the half way line to score a second try.

Despite the setback Chorley rallied and spent the rest of the half attacking the Colne try line coming closest when scrum-half Chris Highton was held up over the line.

This is the fifth game in a row Chorley have lost by 10 points or less and they must overturn this trend in their four remaining fixtures if they are to move away from the foot of the table Chorley's next match is away against Furness on Saturday March 29.
