Chorley have signed South African fast-bowler Friedel De Wet as professional for the new season.
They hope to have the 27-year-old from Durban in time for the second match of the Northern Premier League in two weeks' time.
Signing De Wet is something of a coup for Chorley as he was the leading wicket-taker in South African domestic cricket in 2006-07 with 48 wickets for the Lions.
The right fast medium bowler toured India with the South Africa 'A' party in 2007-08 and was due to sign for Middlesex as 'Kolpak' player for this season but the deal fell through due to work permit difficulties.
Chorley are likely to use a Lancashire second string player as professional for their opening league match at Leyland on Saturday.
