Steve Waywell said a big thank you this week to the Chorley fans who swelled the attendance to a bumper 438 for Saturday’s exciting clash with First Division North leaders Lancaster City.
“It was really heartening to see such a big crowd and I’m sure the fans will continue backing us if we keep up the momentum,” he said.
“We are building up towards having a squad with tremendous desire and who can play, the Chorley boss went on.
Alex Porter headed a timely equaliser on Saturday before ex-Magpie Jordan Connerton hit the winner, and his second goal of the afternoon.
It was Porter’s fourth score in successive home matches.
“I think we showed Lancaster too much respect in the first half, but there was a 100 per cent improvement in the second half when we had control.
“We could have won and Lancaster’s goals came after defensive errors. A draw would have been a fair result.”
