Non-league suffers a weekend whiteout

First published in Chorley FC

NON-league football across the area fell foul the weather as snow took a grip on East Lancashire and beyond.

Only one game in the North West Counties League survived, AFC Liverpool winning 1-0 at Stockport Sports, but closer to home it was a total whiteout.

Padiham’s derby date with Colne was one of the many games to be called off as snow fell on Friday and Saturday.

Bacup’s clash with Norton and Barnoldswick Town’s trip to Maine Road were among the Premier League games to be called off.

All the Division One games were also off, including AFC Darwen’s home game with Cheadle Town and Nelson trip to Atherton LR.

In the Evo-Stik League Premier Division, Chorley’s game at Nantwich was off, and in First Division North, Clitheroe’s home match against Ossett Albion and Ramsbottom United’s trip to Prescot Cables were snowed off.
