CHORLEY 150-8 FLEETWOOD 149 (Chorley won by 2 wickets).
Chorley dodged the showers at Windsor Park to record a third straight win in one of only three matches completed in the Northern Premier League.
Their victory over Fleetwood by two wickets in a tight finish enabled them to hold onto second place and close the gap on leaders St Annes to just three points.
The Fleetwood innings was underpinned by opener Nick Coultas’ 52 but it needed a flurry of late boundaries from skipper James Ellis (26) to lift the visitors from a precarious 120 for 8 to a more challenging 149 all out, Nigel Eastham mopping up the last five wickets for 29.
Chorley were given a solid start in reply and Josh Tolley went on to make an invaluable 49 after Queensland pro Chris Hartley fell for 15 on his debut.
Important runs from the lower order saw Chorley to 150 for 8 and a 12-points win, with Eastham making 14 and Keiron McCullagh finishing 12 not out as the home side reached their target with just five balls to spare.
