Skipper Andy Holdsworth led Chorley to an excellent win over Leyland in the ECB National Knockout yesterday as they shone in the Windsor Park sun.

Chasing Leyland’s 163-9 in 45 overs, Holdsworth’s men were on track as they reached 123-2 after David Fisher made 54 but a wobble saw them lose two quick wickets and were left needing 39 from the final 30 balls.

However, Holdsworth came to the crease and played a fine cameo innings on 23 not out to get his men over the line with just two balls of an enthralling tie remaining.
