According to the commentator, Chorley's Michael Jennings "gave the performance of his career" tonight when he beat Ross "the Boss" Minter.
Jennings was defending his World Boxing Organisation Welterweight title when, in the ninth round, the fight was stopped.
The referee stopped the fight just before the bell, on 2 minutes 59 seconds, of Round 9.
Jennings "the Lurcher" was ahead on points and declared the winner.
The fight had been down to run 12 rounds of three minutes each.
Afterwards, despite a few cuts and bruises, Crawley-born Minter assured fans he was okay and it was generally agreed that he had put up a brave fight but was quite simply outboxed by Jennings.
Minter showed his thanks to Jennings for the match, demonstrating "everything that is good about boxing" according to the commentator.
