Michael Jennings has no fears aboutdefending his WBU welterweight title against Ross Minter in the Sussex boy's own backyard on Saturday.
The Chorley Lurcher will take on Minter, the son of former middleweight world champion Alan, at the ExCel Arena in London.
Jennings is a slight favourite for the fight and is in great shape after doing plenty hill running with his dogs around the Chorley countryside.
"There's nothing I love more than getting away from it all with my pet lurchers, it helps me switch off from boxing," said Jennings.
"The dogs are always raring to go - a bit like me. Once the dogs taste blood there's no stopping them, and once I get into a fight, nothing stands between me and victory!"
The 30-year-old is looking to get his career back on track after a shock and controversial defeat against Young Muttley in Nottingham in January 2006. He has fought just three times since then after being plagued by injury but is still held in high regard by the WBO, and is currently number two in their rankings.
The fight will be the chief support to Amir Khan's WBO Intercontinental lightweight title challenge against Martin Kristjansen.
Michael Jennings' fight will be screened live on ITV4 from 8.40pm.
