Chorley boxer Jack Catterall has been hailed as a rising star of the sport after he made quick work of winning his fifth professional bout.

Catterall, who weighed in at 10st 7lbs, stopped Cardiff's Tom Price in the third with a well-placed body shot.

Price looked a capable fighter during the bout at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, but Catterall was far too good and continues his rise through the ranks. His trainer Lee Beard was full of praise for his young fighter.

He said: “Well done to Jack at the weekend.

“He looks more settled in pro game now. He showed maturity and more experience. Another good win, moving forward all the time.”

“I believe he’s a future champ.”
