Chorley AC put in an excellent team performance in the Mid Lancashire Cross-Country League race at Hyndburn to ensure the club retain their lead in Division Three by two points, with the vet 40 and vet 60 teams in second places in their leagues and the vet 50s slightly off the pace in tenth place.
Paul Wareing finished in 102nd place outrunning Roy Paul in 117th place and Paul Bass was 120th. Henry Minorczyk, in 179th, led the senior vets home with the best individual performance.
For the Chorley Harriers, Bethany Blackwell had a fine run claiming fourth place. Fionnuala Hart and Meghan Adamson excelled themselves running into 14th and 19th places.
In the under 11 boys race Adam Cooper finished 22nd with Jack Turnbull and Dan Leonard claiming 36th and 37th place and Paul McDonald, probably the youngest runner in the field getting 39th.
Dan Whitlock finished 28th in the under 13 boys and Mark Brown 24th in the under 15 boys. In the under 17 men’s, Ryan Downs took 16th place and Sam Entwistle 20th.
Allison Fowler represented the Harriers in the under 20 Ladies and got the eighth position. In the senior ladies race Natasha Fellows was a good 39th.
Keith Johnston led the Harriers home in the senior men’s race finishing in 25th place with Malc Christie, making a rare appearance this season, taking 67th.
Chorley Harrier Dan Edwards had a fine run in the Parbold Hill race completing the course in 58 minutes, 47 seconds while Chorley AC runner Barry Chester was the 11th vet 60 in 66 minutes 23 seconds.
