ATHLETE Terry Dickenson is making a good recovery at his Wheelton home after suffering a heart attack the weekend before last.
The 61 year old Chorley Athletic Club member is one of the most popular and best known personalities in local athletics having organised literally hundreds of races in our area, including the Through the Villages Race which was featured in this column three weeks ago when it reached its 25th edition.
As we reported then, Terry retired from the race with breathing difficulties.
He was taken ill on the Sunday evening while visiting his daughter Sally at Stroud and was admitted to hospital in Gloucester that evening.
After surgery to insert stents into two blocked arteries, he was discharged last Thursday and was fit to be driven home by his wife Pat on Saturday.
A subsequent visit to his doctor has not revealed any permanent damage.
