Chorley Athletic and Triathlon Club

IT WAS Chorley’s turn to host the Inter-Club road race (4.7) around Astley Park, fortunately, on a lovely warm evening and with having to organise and marshal the event, the club secured fourth in both the vets and the V50s.

For Chorley, Rob Walsh (21st) was ahead of the two V50s Warren Crook (46th) and Dave Kershaw(57th) who are both going very well at the moment.

Next, a close group of Jonathon Burgess (74th), Bill Beckett (75th), Ainsley Murphy (78th), Jonathon Mattock (80th) and Paul Wareing (87th).

Michael Hendry (104th) fronted new man Martin Redshaw (107th), Rachael Gibson (139th), David North (154th), Paul Jackson (156th) and Lisa Johnston (161st). Phil McCullagh (172nd) got ahead of Ted Orrell (177th) and Christine Sweatman (207th) with Steven Wilde (249th) sweeping the course. Individually, Ted was first V75 with Warren (V50) and Christine(L55) both second in their categories.

Many thanks to all those who helped and provided food for the post race buffet.

The fourth Harrock Hill (5.2) race of 2015 is on Wednesday, August 26 with the Mid-Lancs T&F medal meeting at Wigan on Saturday, August 29 and the Pennington Flash (5) grand prix race on Sunday, August 30 from Leigh Sports Village.
