Two of the four 2013 Inter-Club fell races have now taken place at Wardle Skyline and Wray Caton Moor and the Chorley athletes have put down some serious results.

Junior Adam Sciacca is leading overall with two wins, Hassan Khattab(4th), Bill Beckett(6th) and Natasha Fellowes(12th) as 1st lady.

The following group are all well placed to achieve success: Michael Hendry(13th), Simon Townsend(14th), Paul Jackson(16th) and Graham Schofield(17th) who is currently 1st V60 and are all pressing to move higher up the rankings.

Stephen Baker(19th) and Phil McCullagh(26th) are both producing solid runs to currently edge out Darren Fishwick and Yewen Bennison joint 29th from a 3rd place each just behind. Chorley’s current team places as a result are 1st overall, 1st vets, 2nd V50s, 1st V60s, 2nd ladies and 1st Jnrs with potential prize winners of Adam(overall and junior), Natasha(ladies) and Graham(V60s). Athletes need to finish the final races of Harrock Hill and Farleton Knott (August 4) in order to consolidate their rankings.

A busy time is on the calendar with Chorley’s own Astley Trail races (Snr and Jnr) in Astley Park today, June 5, followed by the Primary League No.2 at Robin Park, Wigan, on Friday, June 7, the NM/W T&F event at Hyndburn on Sunday, June 9, and then a clash on Wednesday, June 12, between the Inter-Club road race at Preston(4.7) or the CLGP 3 Sisters Country Park(5K) race at Ashton-in-Makerfield.
