After the regional finals where Evie Barclay, U13, took fourth and seventh place and Charlotte Walsh, U15, ranked tenth in North West, with third and seventh places in their individual events, the Chorley team completed their first Lancashire Sports Hall league in seventh place.

U11 boys came a fantastic second place overall, the U15 girls a close fourth place, the U11 girls, U13 girls and boys all taing seventh places in their age groups.

The final event saw personal bests from U15 Holly Brookes in all four events, Charlotte Walsh in three events; U13 Evie Barclay in two events and also Chris Ashworth.

Under 11 Matthew Brown, Catlin McCarrick and Zara Johnson all had personal bests in three events, Martin Rimmer, Jack Hughes, Lauren Prince, Amber Boardman, in two events, and Tia Fyfe.

Maddison Bretherton and Emily Hunter achieved points with their individual and team performances.

Lancashire sports hall manager Paul Brookes said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Chorley in their first year at the league and as a club.

“Chorley should all be very proud of their team’s achievements both as individuals and as a team.”

In the Park Run series John Hurley finished 124th at Bolton in 34:29 while at Preston William Beckett clocked 20:51 finishing 25th for the 5K course.
