CHORLEY aim to keep their financial problems off the field this afternoon as they aim to maintain their push for promotion from the Evo-Stik League Premier Division.

Garry Flitcroft’s Magpies have been beset by a cash crisis – but they have managed to maintain their lofty spot of fourth place.

They have lost just one of their last 10 games and aim to extend that run this afternoon when lowly Kendal Town roll into Victory Park.

Town, bossed by ex-Premier League star Lee Ashcroft who had a loan spell with the Magpies in 2004, are unbeaten in six – but are at the wrong end of the table despite heavy investment.

They do have another former Chorley loan man Jordan Connerton in attack.

Clitheroe face a trip up the M6 to Giant Axe for their Lancashire derby with Lancaster City in the First Division North, while there is plenty of action in the North West Counties League.

Ramsbottom United and Barnoldswick are pushing for promotion from the Premier Division.

Rammy play host to Bacup Borough in a local derby, while Barlick also face a derby clash as they welcome Padiham to the Silentnight Stadium.

That game is intriguing as former Stork Paul Fildes goes up against his old club, while Padiham unleash prolific hitman Sam Heap.

Colne make the short trip over the Pennines to Silsden in another tasty game, while in the First Division there are two games. AFC Darwen tackle Rochdale Town and Nelson host Holker Old Boys at Victoria Park. That game kicks off at 2pm due to ongoing floodlight issues.
