CHORLEY ended a run of three straight defeats in a largely tedious goalless draw against stubborn Woodley.
Steve Waywell’s two loan signings from Bury, keeper Ritchie Branagan (son of ex-Rover full-back Jim) and midfielder Krishnan Patel, were both prominent for the Magpies but the home side lacked a cutting edge to break the deadlock.
With a cutting edge Chorley could have won easily.
Alex Porter came closest for the Magpies but was denied by a brilliant save by Liam Higginbotham in the Woodley goal.
And had Higginbotham not got in the way of a point-blank effort from Steve Burke early in the game, they would probably have scored three or four.
