Read’s Oliver Newby is back in Lancashire’s squad for today’s County Championship clash at Nottinghamshire.

Chorley’s Tom Smith is still ruled out with a side strain but Steven Cheetham gets a chance after impressing for the second team, who are in one-day action at Todmorden today against Durham.

The second team then begin a three-day match at Centre Vale tomorrow.
