Olympian Wiggins misses out on third gold

Chorley-based Olympian Bradley Wiggins couldn’t add to his two gold medals in Bejing today, as he and fellow Brit Mark Cavendish finished eighth in the men’s madison race.
Argentina claimed gold while Spain and Russia scooped silver and bronze respectively.
Wiggins, who had already won gold in the individual and team pursuit races, and Cavendish never really recovered from a slow start to finish equal eighth.
