CHORLEY boss Tony Hesketh is targetting a top-six season for the Magpies.
Hesketh totally revived fortunes at Victory Park following his appointment towards the end of last season when he steered Chorley away from the drop.
He has since re-built his squad with close to 10 summer signings, including winger Seydou Bamber who joined the squad this week after training with Squires Gate.
Hesketh believes his new-look team will take time gel but is optimistic about the future.
“We are going to aim for a top-six finish,” he said. “It’s a young team and their naivety will no doubt having me pulling my hair out at times.
“But I think it will be an exciting team, full of enthusiasm and very fit, and will hopefully be good enough to evolve into a team that can win promotion.”
Chorley start their UniBond League First Division (North) campaign at home to newly promoted Trafford tomorrow.
“They are a good side which has beaten Burscough and Southport in pre-season,” added Hesketh. “It will be a tough test for us bit I think we will be good enough to cause them a few problems.”
