CHORLEY will be attempting to secure a home match in the second leg of the Conference North play-offs when they play their final game of the regular season tomorrow.

The Magpies host Solihull Moors having confirmed their place in the play-offs last weekend despite a 2-1 defeat at Guiseley.

But the defeat saw Garry Flitcroft’s side lose their grip on third place, meaning that they would currently have to play the second leg of their play-off semi final away from home.

Barrow and AFC Fylde are still competing for the solitary automatic promotion spot, with the loser of that battle taking second position and a play-off place.

Boston United sit third with Chorley in fourth, after moving back above fifth-placed Guiseley on goals scored because the West Yorkshire side lost their game in hand in midweek.

But the Magpies can move back above Boston on the final day if they beat mid-table Solihull Moors and Boston do not win at home to Leamington.

The first leg of the play-off semi finals will take place on Wednesday, with the second leg on Saturday, May 2. The final is on Saturday, May 9.

AFC Darwen will also be jostling for better play-off opportunities when they host Eccleshall tomorrow in the final game of the regular season in the North West Counties First Division.

Darwen are fourth in the table and confirmed in the play-offs, and could climb to third if they win and Hanley Town slip up.

Colne end their North West Counties Premier Division season at Bootle tomorrow. They will finish fourth but there are no play-offs in the Premier Division.

Nelson are currently 11th and end their campaign at home to 1874 Northwich.

Ramsbottom United secured their status in the Evo-Stik Premier Division at the weekend and end their season at home to Matlock Town tomorrow.

The club will hold their end of season awards night at Ramsbottom Cricket Club on Friday, May 1, with tickets available for £10.

Mid-table Clitheroe finish their First Division North season at home to Warrington Town tomorrow, while Padiham entertain Prescot Cables in their final game at that level before returning to the North West Counties League after suffering relegation.
