GARRY Flitcroft is hoping to have a stronger squad at his disposal for tomorrow’s crunch clash at Guiseley, after failing to fire on all cylinders at struggling Gloucester City last weekend.

Captain Andy Teague was ruled out of the late 2-1 defeat with a sickness bug, while Paul Jarvis sidelined with a similar illness.

Adam Roscoe’s absence was tactical, as he was one booking away from a suspension in the run-in.

But Flitcroft expects all three to return to boost the Magpies as they bid to cement their play-off place with a return to winning ways in their penultimate game.

“We didn’t want to risk Adam playing and getting booked,” said Flitcroft.

“Teaguey was sick the night before the game and Jarvo had a sickness bug.

“There was one going round but hopefully no-one else has caught it.

“We should be fresh with Teaguey back and a couple of others.”

A last-minute loss at Gloucester brought an end to Chorley’s six-game winning run, in all competitions.

But as third-placed Chorley face fifth-placed Guiseley in the battle to secure a top five spot, Flitcroft is optimistic.

“We’ve got a good record against the teams at the top,” he said.

“We keep beating the teams at the top.

“We had a poor second half last Saturday. A few of the lads looked leggy. We had a one-off, off day.

“But I can’t fault the lads for effort. They have done brilliantly for me, we’ve just got to keep going to the end of the season.

“We go again (tomorrow).”
