CHORLEY are set to strengthen their side with the signing of Nantwich Town striker Aaron Burns.

The 17-goal hitman has departed The Weaver Stadium and Dabbers boss Danny Johnson said he fully expects the 27-year-old to join Garry Flitcroft’s side.

Johnson said: “I can confirm that Aaron wants to play in the Conference North and will be joining Garry Flitcroft at Chorley.

“Chorley are a team on the up and working with Garry and Matt Jansen was an opportunity that Aaron felt was too good to ignore.

“We are all very disappointed to lose Aaron but I am sure everyone connected with Nantwich Town will join me in wishing Aaron all the very best for the future.”

Chorley are in Conference North action tomorrow when they host Gainsborough Trinity.

The Magpies have won just once in their last four league games to slip to seventh in the standings, two points off the play-off places.

And although Garry Flitcroft’s side do have games in hand on all the sides above them it is points on the board they will be chasing when mid-table Trinity visit.
