Exciting young talent Mohammed Jamal will be Chorley Cricket Club’s professional for the 2014 season.
The signature of the 24-year-old has been clinched and Jamal, who was professional at Ribblesdale League big guns Read last year, said he was relishing the challenge of the forthcoming Northern Premier League campaign.
“I’m looking forward to playing in the Northern League and it should be a great challenge,” he said.
“I always enjoy my cricket and like being involved all the time and I’m delighted to join Chorley.”
Jamal came through the ranks at his home town club Burnley and broke into the first team before moving to Read three years ago.
After a successful period as an amateur be became the club’s professional last term and rose admirably to the challenge, scoring an impressive 1,173 runs.
Jamal has a reputation as an attacking right handed batsman who likes to entertain the crowd, and he can also bowl right arm medium pace and is an agile fieldsman.
