RECENT signing Darren Stephenson is determined score the goals to try and fire Chorley back into the Evo-Stik League Premier Division promotion frame.
The Magpies got back to winning ways at the weekend when they beat Blyth Spartans thanks to a Dale Whitham goal but Stephenson, who signed for the Magpies from Southport last month after an early season loan spell at Victory Park, wants to find his shooting boots after bagging six goals in his eight games in his first spell.
“I enjoyed my time at Southport but wasn’t getting played as often as I’d like,” said Stephenson.
“It’s good coming back, especially playing with a great set of lads and the ambition at the moment is to move us up the table and score goals.”
Stephenson started his career at Bradford City before heading to Merseyside when he signed for Blue Square Bet Premier outfit Southport.
But Stephenson is upbeat and added: “The Southport manager said I needed games so that’s when I went to Victory Park on loan.
“And now I am delighted to be back.”
