Eccleston woman loses tenancy

First published in News

A woman who falsely claimed to be living in a Chorley Community Housing (CCH) property in Eccleston has been forced to hand her keys back.

The fraud comes on the back of two similar cases in the Chorley area.

Debbie Parkinson, tenancy enforcement manager with CCH, said: “The woman claimed to be living in the property with her female partner. Obviously family houses in popular villages such as Eccleston are in very high demand and so when we had our suspicions that she was actually living elsewhere we visited to try and establish what the situation was.”

The woman, who was in fact living at a different address nearby with her boyfriend, has now surrendered her CCH tenancy.
