A 25-YEAR-old man has died after an accident at a business premises.
The man suffered life-threatening injuries at around 3.20pm today and paramedics confirmed he died at the scene a short time later.
Police cars, ambulances, and an air ambulance were called to number two shed, in Garden Street, Abbey Village, near Chorley, an ambulance spokeswoman said.
She added: “A 25-year-old male was involved in an industrial accident. He suffered life-threatening injuries and went into cardiac arrest.”
According to its website, blacksmith and welding company John Fowler and Son operates from that address.
The firm offers skip refurbishment, bin wagon repairs, litter nets, and also has a timber yard, it said online.
It said it has previously worked on projects with Hyndburn Council, the Hilton Hotel in Deansgate, Manchester, Manchester Airport, and Coleshill Railway Station.
One witness said: “I saw the helicopter land at the back of Abbey Mill at around 3.40pm. There were four or five police cars, ambulances, and the helicopter.
“I knew it must have been something serious because there were people everywhere.”
