New Brinscall music school hits the right note
6:00am Wednesday 16th October 2013 in News
A new music school orchestrated a special welcome as it welcomed visitors at its official opening.
Clearwater Music school of Brinscall, on the first floor of The Old Bank, was set up by Alex Danson, 22, who teaches guitar at the school.
Clearwater also offers lessons in singing, piano, keyboard and bass guitar.
During the afternoon, people were given the opportunity to try out various inst- ruments and take short taster lessons with the teachers and talk to them about the lessons.
As well as this there were periodic performances from teachers and pupils and refreshments were served in the waiting room. Alex said: “I was really pleased with the turnout on the day and I was delighted with the fantastic reaction to what we’d done with the place. We have worked really hard over the last few months to get the school looking the way we want it and are really proud of what we have achieved.
“We feel that we have created a great place to learn an instrument and want to make a really good impact on the community by providing an excellent service and helping people gain an enjoyable and valuable life skill.”
Alex was helped in his new venture by Chorley Council’s start-up business advisor.
The school will now begin planning its Christmas showcase which will give pupils experience of performing in front of an audience.
