A FIRE broke out on moorland near Rivington Pike yesterday evening.
Four crews from Bolton Central, Horwich and Chorley were called to the blaze at 5pm to discover about 300 square metres of grass on fire, off Georges Lane in Horwich.
Smoke could be seen up to eight miles away.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
