A ‘TRAPPED person locator’ from Lancashire has been donated to firefighters in Chile.
The equipment will be used in the search following the huge quake that struck the country last weekend.
Sent by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, it helps locate people trapped in collapsed buildings using six highly- sensitive microphones that can detect noise and vibrations.
Chief Fire Officer Peter Holland said: “If the trapped person locator can pull just one person alive from a collapsed building it will have been successful.”
