Local residents, aged 50 and over and living in Chorley, are invited to have their say in how local public services are provided by becoming a member of the Chorley Older Peoples Partnership Board.

The board, made up of representatives from Lancashire County Council, Central Lancashire Primary Care Trust, Chorley District Council and the Voluntary and Community Faith Sector (VCFS), as well as members of the public, meet to discuss a range of local issues like health and social care, public transport, leisure, housing and community support services.

It gives older people the opportunity to express their views about services currently provided in Chorley to advise planners and organisations to develop new services where such services do not exist, and to help shape and establish new services.

Meetings are held bi-monthly in Chorley Town Hall and Union Street Offices, from 9.30am to about noon.

The Partnership Board has been in existence since May 2007 and would like to invite members of the public who would be willing to offer their time towards improving services for older people in Chorley in 2008.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the board and would like to discuss further, please contact Mick Duffy, Chair of Older Peoples Partnership Board, on 01257 516086 or 07947721201.
