A spook-acular weekend of Halloween terror awaits brave visitors to an old Lancashire mill where history comes to life - literally!
Chilling tales from the past have been unearthed at Bygone Times, in Eccleston, near Chorley, where visitors are invited to roam until Friday, November 2, if they dare!
In time for Halloween the antique and collectables store has been transformed into a horror show that is understood to be a UK first.
Bosses at Bygone Times and horror attraction company, AtmosFEAR, produced by Jason Karl, have come up with a frightening way to bring the horrors of the 38,000 square foot building's haunted past vividly to life.
The show is not for the faint-hearted and visitors can expect plenty of audience participation as actors take on the ghostly roles.
Special effects, different lighting techniques and haunting music add to the experience to send shivers down the spine.
"This is something that is big in America and a concept that we believe will take off in the UK as well," said Jason, co-presenter of TV's Britain's Most Haunted.
AtmosFEAR, which formed in 2005, specialises in putting on shows which have strong back stories, theatrical illusions and themed environments in order to allow the audience to temporarily immerse themselves in fantasy situations where escapism, exhilaration and fun are key.
This has been the blueprint for their current show at Bygone Times and something the company will be repeating in a similar fashion in time for Christmas as performers bring Charles Dickens' haunting tale A Christmas Carol to life following a two course meal.
Ebenezer Scrooge and the ghost of Jacob Marley will be on hand to entertain participants who might also bump into the ghosts of past, present and future.
Tickets for the Halloween show are £10 each for readers who quote the Citizen when booking, otherwise £13 each.
Tickets for the Christmas show on Saturday, December 15, at 7.30pm, are £55 per person.
Bookings for both events can be made on 01257 451889.
