Chorley's biggest ever permanent cinema screen has been unveiled.

The £5,000 screen has been bought by Chorley Film Society and is now in place at Chorley Little Theatre in Dole Lane.

It will be used for the first time when the society presents the new James Bond movie Casino Royale this Sunday, January 28.

The screen was specially made in Italy and is seven metres wide and six metres high sliding down from the ceiling when in use.

Ian Robinson, of the film society, said: "We are grateful to Chorley Amateur Dramatic Society (CADOS) for letting us install it.

"We're constantly looking for ways to improve our presentations and this screen will increase the impact of films we show.

"Combined with our eight speaker surround sound we'll be providing a great experience for the town."
