AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a car caught on fire on a residential street.

Reports of a vehicle fire on Oak Street in Oswaldtwistle were received by firefighters at shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Crews from Hyndburn attended the scene where they found the engine compartment of the car well alight upon their arrival.

A spokesman said: “Crews used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance approximately fifty five minutes and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.”
