The shops are already filling up with Valentine’s Day cards and gifts which gives us the perfect excuse to bring this photograph out of the Lancashire Telegraph archives.
It shows the canteen staff at Crown Paints in Darwen celebrating Valentine’s Day by dressing up as famous lovers from history in 1991.
Head chef Anthony Liddy (centre) had put together a special romantic menu for the day. He was flanked by Adam and Eve - Jane Ball and Lise Livesey - and Nora Batty and Compo - Liz Fielding and Shellie Wanless.
