Ribble Bus passengers walk along Preston Old Road, Cherry Tree in 1967
CATCHING a bus proved a tricky business for passengers in Cherry Tree back in 1967.
In this photograph from the Lancashire Telegraph archives, the passengers are seen walking across the railway bridge protected from the traffic by a series of large bollards while the bus they are hoping to catch looms behind them.
Almost as interesting as the main subject in the picture is the sign on the right advertising the Borough Building Society with offices in both Blackburn and Burnley.
