TWO police officers have been charged in connection with alleged drug dealing offences.

PCs Adam Jackson and Kerry Reeve, both 35, were charged following an investigation by Greater Manchester Police’s anti-corruption unit.

Both work with Greater Manchester Police and were charged along with a number of men from East Lancashire.

Jackson, of Tong Lane, Bacup, has been charged with encouraging/assisting in the commission of supplying Class A drugs and two counts of possession of a Class A drug.

Reeve, of Barratt Gardens, Middleton, has been charged with encouraging/assisting in the commission of supplying Class A drugs, possession of a Class A drug and possession of a Class B drug.

John Pounder, 30, of Cedar Avenue, Haslingden, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

Daniel Wade, 35, of Laneside Road, Haslingden, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Callam Wood , 37, of Catlow Hall Street, Oswaldtwistle, has been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

All have been bailed to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 26.

Speaking at the time the two officers were arrested, a police spokesman said: "One of the men and the woman are serving officers with GMP.

"The officers have been suspended from duty.

"This has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission. All four have been bailed pending further enquiries."

An IPCC spokesman said: "The IPCC is supervising an investigation, being conducted by Greater Manchester Police, into allegations against two serving officers concerning the supply of drugs.

"The IPCC is regularly updated on its progress and will be informed of the outcome in due course."
