A SECONDARY school in Accrington has raised more than £1,500 for charity.
Pupils at Mount Carmel RC High School in Beech Grove took part in a giant sponsored sleepover in the school gym.
They also carried out a cake sale and held a jumper day to raise money.
A selection of pupils from the school came in to the hospice in Park Lee Road, Blackburn to hand over the cheque for £1511.72.
They were also given a tour of the hospice by volunteers and told how the money would be used to help patients and their families.
A spokesman for the hospice said: “We were delighted to welcome students from Mount Carmel to receive a bumper cheque.
“A big thank you to Mount Carmel for their continuing support.”
