A 38-YEAR-OLD man who went to his estranged wife's home while she was at work was found by police asleep in an upstairs bedroom.
Blackburn magistrates heard Imran Akbar had no contact with his ex but was in breach of a restraining order by attending at her home.
Akbar, of Bird Street, Brierfield, pleaded guilty to breaching the order.
He was jailed for eight weeks and the restraining order extended to last 24 months.
Imran Hussain, defending, said his client was still married to the victim although they had been separated for some time.
"When he got to the house the door was open and he went in," said Mr Hussain.
"He made his way to the attic bedroom and bizarrely fell asleep. He didn't speak to anyone.
"As he explained to the police he misses his family and the break-up has caused enormous emotional strain."
