ANOTHER emergency cover review is being drawn up for the county’s fire service.

Fire services nationwide are expected to conduct such assessments every three or four years.

The latest stations study will cover the period from 2017 to 2020, according to the fire authority’s planning committee.

Under the last review, which took place in 2013, fire appliances were removed at Hyndburn and Padiham, and shift changes were made at Chorley and Euxton.

Four months of preparation work is underway before a public consultation exercise between July and October.

Once that has formally taken place, any final proposals will be placed before a meeting of the full fire authority in November or December for approval.
