A MAN will stand trial over allegations he sold packets of cigarettes which did not contain the appropriate health warning.
Burnley magistrates heard Salim Balesaria, 44, allegedly sold three packets of cigarettes in Nelson on June 22 which did not contain a health warning.

He is also alleged to have committed the same offence in the town on July 13, with 34 packets of cigarettes.
On the same day Balesaria, of Leeds Road, Nelson, was said to be in possession of 11 packets of hand-rolling tobacco and a packet of cigarettes which had a sign identical to or likely to be mistaken for a registered trademark.
On July 20 Balesaria allegedly supplied 113 packets cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco which did not contain the health warning and in possession of 19 packets of hand-rolling tobacco which had a sign identical to or likely to be mistaken for a registered trademark.
On August 17 he is alleged to have committed the health warning and copyright offences in Accrington and on August 25 committed the same offences in Blackburn and the health warning offence in Nelson.
Balesaria denies all the charges against him and the trial is set to be staged at Burnley Crown Court on Monday, February 6.
