GRITTERS will be out in East Lancashire tonight ahead of another cold spell.
A statement on the Lancashire County Council website said: "All priority routes in East Lancs to be gritted this evening.
"We have weather predictions of frost/ice and road temperatures reaching -3.2'C. We will apply salt to all priority routes.
"Priority routes only cover a third of the highway network and ice patches can develop on treated surfaces caused by water run-off from fields or other sources. Ice is most likely on untreated surfaces."
Meanwhile, Met Office reports suggest that cloud will be widespread 'with perhaps the odd spot of light rain, mainly over the hills.
"It will be less cold than last night, thanks to the cloud. The minimum temperature -3°C."
