A FORMER Padiham army cadets leader has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with historical sex offences involving young boys.
George Walker, 78, of Langdale Close, Plymouth was sent on bail to Burnley Crown Court on eight charges of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 16 between January 1975 and January 1978 when he was detachment commander at Padiham Army Cadets.

The court was told similar offences involving another boy had already been sent to the crown court and Walker will appear for both sets of offences on November 29.
