TWO vicars have created a special rap tribute for controversial X Factor star Honey G.

Chris Krawiec and Alex Frost formed double act Jack and Krac a year ago and upload comedy videos and routines to their YouTube channel.

And the video for the love-her-or-hate-her contestant is set to be shown on The Xtra Factor Live this weekend.

Rev Frost, of St Matthew’s Church, Burnley, said: “We got a call from the programme to say they had spotted our video and they wanted to feature it as part of their round-up of the best social media postings relating to The X Factor.

“It’s live, so anything could happen, but at present the intention is for the clip to be shown on the edition airing this Sunday on ITV2, from 9pm.

“So often people who don’t experience church and what it means to be a Christian on a regular basis have preconceptions about us. We hope our comedy might break down barriers and dispel preconceptions.”

Wannabe rapper Honey G has become one of the show’s most controversial acts.

With her trademark sunglasses and hip-hop tracksuits, the crowd is torn over whether they love or hate her.

In Sunday’s vote-off show, the news she had made it through to next week was greeted with boos as Birmingham singer Relley C was sent home.

Lancashire Telegraph:

The vicars met prior to their ordination while on retreat at Whalley Abbey.

Rev Frost, 47, used to perform comedy in pubs and clubs when he was younger as a semi-professional comedian.

He was baptised 10 years ago and became a practising Christian and gave up his performing days, until he met Rev Krawiec.

Rev Krawiec, 30, who is based at St Bartholomew’s in Great Harwood, has always been a comedy fan. He said: “I had done some comedy work at college events in Durham while training for ordination.

“Then Alex and I met, clicked, and decided to explore whether two vicars can make people laugh in a way that shows people that laughter is a huge part of what it means to be a Christian.

“Too often people think being a Christian is a serious business all the time, but joy is such an important element of the Christian life.”

The duo’s Honey G rap has been viewed more than 7,000 times on Facebook and YouTube to date.
