A FAMILY pub in the Ribble Valley has undergone a major refurbishment – and the owners hope it will create jobs.
The Spread Eagle in Mellor was taken over two years ago by mother and son Lesley and Stuart Clark.
The pair said they decided to carry out the extensive refurbishment, which they had been planning since they took over, to improve facilities for customers.

Mr Clark, 30, said: “We did it because when we took over two years ago we had major things to do. We couldn’t afford everything.
“The architect who designed it said that people can have their ‘own little party,’ I’m really satisfied.
“The feedback has been unreal, everyone has said nice things, there has been a real ‘wow factor’ for them.
“We think we’ve got the best views in Lancashire and we want to show them off. We’re going to do something with a big garden further down the line.
“It’s enhanced basically everything, and it should create more jobs.”
The work at the Mellor Lane venue involved separating the bar and dining area, which Mr Clark believes will create a more ‘intimate’ dining experience.
They have also expanded the bar and are aiming to host more live performances.
Stuart’s two brothers Terry and AJ and his wife Charlene also work at the pub.
