Labour MPs Julie Cooper, Kate Hollern and Graham Jones are all voting to stay.

Their Chorley colleague, and House of Commons Deputy Speaker, Lindsay Hoyle is understood to be privately in favour of quitting the European Union.

He is backed by senior Burnley Borough and Lancashire County Labour councillor Marcus Johnstone.

Mr Berry said: “I will be voting for the UK to remain a member of the EU.

“It’s a difficult choice but on balance I believe that we will be stronger, safer and more economically secure by staying in the European Union.”

Pendle MP Mr Stephenson said: “This is about taking back control of own government and our own laws.

“Now 70 per cent of our laws are estimated to be made by unelected officials in the EU.

“After two years of negotiation, we will be better off outside.”

Blackburn Mrs Hollern said: “We are safer and stronger in.

“We have gained many rights such as maternity leave, paid holidays, workers rights, health and safety in the workplace.

“Blackburn has benefited greatly over the last couple of years from £5.5m EU funding for the town centre regeneration and the Cathedral Quarter and the Whitebirk junction.”

Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans said: “This is about getting back control of our own laws and our own economy and setting a proper limit on who comes in this country.

“It is also about regaining control of billions of pounds that can spent on things from filling potholes in the Ribble Valley to improving the NHS.

“This is about the UK regaining control of its own destiny.”

Mrs Cooper said: “I am voting to remain because the people of Burnley and Padiham will be better off and safer in the EU.

“The economy will be stronger and the rights the EU gives workers will be protected.”

Hyndburn MP Graham Jones said on his blog: “I will vote to Remain.

“This is about our children, and they are voting three to one to ‘Remain’.

“They are the ones that will have to live with the consequences.

Cllr Marcus Johnstone: “Fundamental Labour, trade union and socialist values are at stake.

“How any self-respecting socialist can support a super state in the making run by 28 unelected, appointed commissioners has always been beyond me.”

UKIP East Lancashire Euro MP Louise Bours said: “Don’t listen to David Cameron and George Osborne’s ‘Project Fear’.

“Vote Leave tomorrow.”
