YOU wait for one bus video to come along and then two come along at once.

PMP Video this week uploaded clips of East Lancashire’s buses on Youtube to promote its DVDs on the region’s public transport.

And while residents are still waiting for the completion of the Blackburn’s bus station, it appears some people want to capture the essence of the temporary terminal for eternity.

One, entitled just 2858 and available for just £13, focuses on scenes from Blackburn and Accrington in May last year, and offers: “Sun and downpours at two amazing facilities, Blackburn the interim bus station and Accrington the old ‘un.”

Another, Great Spot Lancashire, includes digitally-remastered footage of visits to Burnley, Rawtenstall, Blackburn and Accrington in 1996, while the 1997 archives capture Fishwick buses in Leyland and Chorley and the 2001 edition heads to Clitheroe.

The site is run by Dave and Mandy Spencer from their home in Cheshire and also showcases some crazy scenes from bus journeys abroad, such as trams in Calcutta and red double-deckers in Mumbai in India.

Dave said: “At the end of the 1980s we started filming on video and by 1989 had launched video sales. We were fortunate in having good friends who gave us access to archive cine film. As video faded as a format we started to produce DVDs.”

The films are ‘natural’ – with no narration or music added. Dave added: “We are not a Hollywood production company, our budget is a tank of fuel not a million dollars.

“One customer complained that his trucking DVD had nothing but trucks on it – you just cannot win.”

Dave has caught hundreds of trains, trams and trucks on camera, PMP Transport Films – later this year he’ll be filming in Colombia, China and North Korea.
