RESIDENTS have been issued a warning about spam emails purporting to be coming from iTunes, Apple’s music service.
Action Fraud and the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) said the email apparently details a purchase and asks customers to click on a link if they did not buy the item so they can get a refund.

A spokesman said: “Once redirected to a web page they are asked to fill out their card and other personal details.
“This is a spam email that is being used to harvest personal details, possibly to access bank accounts.”
The warning was sent out to residents signed up to Lancashire Police’s neighbourhood alerts, and was issued alongside several tips for keeping safe when online.
They included double-checking where an email has come from, checking their iTunes account for recent purchases, contacting iTunes to double check their account activity, and to avoid providing personal details by email.
The spokesman added: “If you have filled in one of the forms, do not use online banking until you’ve had your computer checked by an expert.”
